Torrance Home Owner Has Fire and Water Damage; SERVPRO Anaheim Hills Comes to the Rescue
This past July, our customer service team received a phone call from a home owner in Torrance sounding like she was in a very tough situation. Our customer service team, always the front line for incoming emergencies, was able to take some of the panic away by explaining how our team would be there rapidly and how we would address her challenge.
Edgar Arcila was there within 45 minutes - as fast as traffic would allow - and provided an expert inspection and a very fair and accurate quote.
The home owner's trouble began with a kitchen fire. The local fire department rushed to the scene and saved the home, but it was not without extensive water damage. The living room, dining room and kitchen all had been damaged, as well as a bamboo wood floor which had to be torn out because excessive moisture had warped all the boards.
Our team demo'd the drywall on several walls in order to dry the wood studs. Additionally, there was a limited amount of mold which we were able to clean out using anti-microbial spray and a wipe-down method.
In a few places, we had to build containments which both sped the drying process and avoided mold spores from circulating past the original mold areas.
This job required the use of four air movers and two dehumidifiers as well.
All demo'd drywall was carefully bagged and removed. We moved a number of household items and covered them in plastic to avoid any damage.
This project was successfully completed and our customer was very appreciative of the way we cared for her home, patiently took the time to explain every step in our process, and effectively dried her home so a construction crew could quickly come and begin the rebuild stage.
Life would get back to normal soon and we were happy to place a role.
