Our Valencia-based customer was spared the worst of what could have happened but still had a major clean-up job to do during last year's Woolsey fire.  Luckily, SERVPRO Yorba Linda/  Brea's reputation for emergency fire damage restoration led to a referral.

Recently, a business complex in Anaheim Hills called us for help for help with water damage restoration.  SERVPRO Yorba Linda/ Brea is the leader in this area.

One interesting feature; notice the photo where the baseboard has been drilled.  This is a technique to dry out the studs without having to demo the drywall.  Once the holes are created, a series of air blowers and other technology can be used to dry out the interior and prevent mold.

This photo mosaic is a look at a job we recently did for the landlord of an apartment complex.  Water damage had occurred throughout most of several apartments.  Our job was to remove hardwood floors carefully, to get at the source of the moisture and dry it out.  Walls had also been damaged.  We had to demo drywall to expose wooden studs.

Hurricane Michael battered many homes in North Carolina and Florida in October, 2018.  Shortly after, we sent a crew out to contribute what we could to the storm restoration needs in the area.  

This photo mosaic shows you the work we did at one of the homes we worked at.  Like many of the homes we worked on, our efforts required us to thoroughly dry the home with an array of equipment, including dehumidifiers, water extractors, water pumps, air movers and HEPA filters.

In many cases, like this home, we had to completely strip the home down to wall studs, tear out carpeting and carpet padding, remove cabinets, flooring etc.

We worked very hard to help these badly damaged homes and anxious families get back on their feet again so they'd feel 'Like it never even happened.'

C02 which converts to high pressured gas which is blasted against the surface resulting in quicker recovery and a restore to normal operating.

When drying out a home that's had water damage, our first preference is to dry in place.  That's not always possible though, depending on the extent of the water damage.  When it isn't, we perform a partial drywall demolition in order to expose wall or ceiling studs (as in this photo).

This is a critical step because unless this is done, the moisture within the wall or above the ceiling remains trapped.  This makes the perfect environment for mold growth.  On the other hand, drywall demo ultimately will limit the damage to the structure, and lower the long-term costs of restoration.

Using moisture sensors like one shown in this photo helps us avoid mold growth.   Mold needs only two things to thrive; wood fiber and moisture.

When our moisture sensors measure significant amounts of moisture in a wall, we expose the studs by partial drywall demo.

In this photo, you can see a recent water damage restoration project we completed for a customer.  There had been flood following a burst pipe.

Making this customer feel 'Like it never even happened' required us to several different types of equipment; air blowers, and a water extractor (pumped out the standing water).

Air movers:  Another very important piece of equipment that SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/ Brea frequently uses is the air mover.  In this  photo, you can see a number of them.  

An air mover is basically a heavy duty industrial fan that produces high-velocity airflow to promote air circulation and increased evaporation. The result is faster drying time, improved ventilation, and cooling.

Because an air mover increases air circulation, it can be used to dry out carpets, walls, floors, and wall cavities in a minimum amount of time.

The job shown in the photo was from a water damage restoration project in Hacienda Heights where a commercial structure had been damaged following a storm.  In addition to air blowers, we also used dehumidifiers, and built containments.  In some areas, we also need pumps to remove about 3" of standing water.

In this photo, one of our SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/ Brea team members is using a moisture meter.  A moisture meter measures the amount of moisture that has been absorbed into walls, ceilings, etc following water damage.

In this case, this Anaheim Hills home was damaged by rain that fell in January, 2018.
